|Note: This page is about an event that has already happened.||It took place on a historic day.|
Several folks from local wiki communities (Wikimedia, Socialtext, etc.) would like to get together Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 6pm to talk wiki. Mark Dilley of Portland, Oregon will be in town, on his way back from facilitating the RecentChangesCamp (RCC) conference in Canberra, Australia. So we want to get together and talk with him!
Everyone is welcome. We're expecting maybe 5-10 people. If it goes well, we might want to have a regular meeting, maybe monthly. Contact Peteforsyth if you're interested!
Among our likely attendees will be people with backgrounds in the Socialtext, Meatball Wiki, Wikipedia, and AboutUs wiki communities, as well as numerous small community-oriented wikis. We like to talk about how communities form around wikis, possible technological improvements, etc. And we'll all be eager for Mark's report on the Australia RCC!
Was not able to make it
- iFaqeer (Sabahat Ashraf): Definitely interested if this becomes a regular meeting. Wasn't able to make it this time.
 Info about Noisebridge
- see: Getting Here
Please explore this wiki to learn about Noisebridge, a fantastic hacker space in the Mission district of SF. On Tuesday night (as most nights) there will be other events happening, including their weekly general meeting at 8pm. So after 8:00, we may want to join that meeting to learn about their "do-ocracy"-oriented space, or maybe move to a different part of the space (or a local bar) if we've got some good discussion of our own going.
