Coffee in the morning

Feb 17. Pot of coffee made. I've got my cup, and have offered coffee to two.--Greg (talk) 15:15, 17 February 2014 (UTC) February 16, about 6:30pm. The coffee is nearly brewed. The space is rather good. There is a quiet music on. A couple people looking at computer screens, no one openly sleeping in the main space or library area. There is too much left out food considering the roaches and rodent problem, but I'm encouraged that the place is better. When its like this, I would feel good about inviting people to coffee and coding in the morning.--Greg (talk) 14:45, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

February 15, The space isn't too bad. Yeah, there is food left out in the kitchen, but not so bad either. February 14, someone keeps changing my webpage, and putting implicit threats. Annoying. --Greg (talk) 19:53, 14 February 2014 (UTC) February 13, @ 6:30am. --Greg (talk) 14:52, 13 February 2014 (UTC) Its good morning in NB. The place is good this morning. This feels really good. No one is acting with weird behavior. The kitchen sink is almost clean. At least two people are working intently on their laptops. Monad is cleaning up the shop, and electrical overflow shelves. And the sun is coming up.

February 12, @ 6:30am decently good space in the morning. I've opened my overnight email, and made my coffee. Updated my category to Members as Tom the secretary asked. I spoke to Kyle about his breaking the lamp in Turing and leaving the broken glass for someone else to clean up. He didn't deny he broke it, but was bsing about why he didn't clean it up. Saying no time because he had to catch the bus, but it wasn't like that. It was a ramble. Kyle is sitting in a chair, and rolling it long distances within NB, with a purpose that I can't see. Josh was asleep with his head down in the common table. With him, that is the second time in about two weeks that I've seen him fully asleep at NB in the morning hours. The kitchen sink has many uncleaned dishes, but not so many that it can't be easily used to clean the coffee machine and a cup Greg (talk) 15:07, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

February 10. Back to messed up. --Greg (talk) 15:18, 10 February 2014 (UTC) I stayed about three minutes then have walked over to Starbucks on Bryant and Mariposa. The place was populated with people who I think don't know how to do their drugs and still behave.

Nick is sleeping at the table in the main space. The - at least - third time I've seen him sleeping there after he said at the consensus meeting for banning him that he wouldn't sleep there anymore. Kyle was talking randomly. I'm inclined to ask for consensus that Karl should take a time out from the space.

At Starbucks I got the tall blond coffee. Am I allowed to joke that I like the way it sounds when I order it.

Problem is, its 2014 and I'm not completely in the cloud. I had the plan to complete the homework for Liz and Kellan's python class. Well, the laptop is in the locker at NB, but this gives me the chance to see if I can figure it out using ssh Good, a hacking challenge, like grandma said, its an ill wind that doesn't knock down some peaches.

Feb 9, its a Sunday about 8:30. The space is good. Two people and me all quietly working. But, the sinks are filled with dishes. I'm brewing coffee, and then gonna explore GIT and Github.

Feb 8 7:15 am I'm leaving for this morning, too much dirtiness, inconsiderate behavior, and general creepiness.--Greg (talk) 15:13, 8 February 2014 (UTC) Feb 8, Saturday. someone had made coffee. cool. Walked away from my empty coffee cup as I powered up my laptop, and when I got back, there was a big roach crawling through it. In the last week there has been a big increase in squatting and not cleaning at Noisebridge. ewwww. gross. A big roach just crawled through my coffee. Can't people clean up. --Greg (talk) 14:34, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

--Greg (talk) 14:23, 7 February 2014 (UTC) would not work this morning. Has the feeling of people who took drugs that I don't know about and are still speeding or mething from the overnight. Brought large blue recycle and black garbage toter up from the street. 7am This am, the place is controlled by those who are doing drugs to stay up all night, and in that mood are pumping out the music. I'm leaving and going to the Starbucks. When its like this, .. I don't want to go there.

--Greg (talk) 14:45, 6 February 2014 (UTC)kitchen sink area remains totally trashed. almost over flowing. See notes on sleeping. Basically, a few new sleepers, and the place is getting bad.

--Greg (talk) 16:06, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Kitchen sink area remains totally trashed. Dauntingly messy.

--Greg (talk) 17:03, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Brought Coffee, Made a pot. Cleaned the sink area and around the coffee tray for 10 minutes. But kitchen is still messy.

Gregorydillon (talk) 17:53, 1 February 2014 (UTC) Got here at weekend hours, about 9:30. I'm working hard on doing a bash script, so I was here late last night, and kinda early this morning. Gonna do a count, but seems like 6 sleeper were here over night, but are awake now. Too much non hacker noise, coming from them with words like, fucking, shit, hella, louder laughs then necessary. I made a pot of coffee, but if this keeps up, I'm moving on this morning.

Gregorydillon (talk) 17:34, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Joseph had coffee made when I got in this morning. It was good.' Gregorydillon (talk) 14:42, 30 January 2014 (UTC) The kitchen sink is rather backed up with dirty dishes, considerable uneaten food left on counter an uncleaned crumbs..

My wiki talk page got out of order. Trying to restore it. Gregorydillon (talk) 14:41, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

I came late. Say 7:10. Joseph made coffee and offered me some. Nice. Gregorydillon (talk) 15:49, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Thankyou, whoever brought the coffee filters. 199.241.200.45 15:32, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Nice, Monoad came in early this morning. Nice to see someone solid in the morning. I believe there are 6 people here none of whom are members or associates.

Sashy was sleeping on the coach in the front room. Turning on the lights woke her up. I asked her if a member was sponsoring her. She said she has been a member for three years. But she didn't know her name on the on membership rolls. Another guy who had been sleeping on the other front coach, said that he doesn't have a sponsor, but that he has been vetted and told that it was okay by someone who I 90% sure is. (***R***). Then Sara is sleeping in J.C.'s space. Two people awake in the back who I recognize, one that I don't recognize. - Not a real Starbucks. Gregorydillon (talk) 15:36, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

The guy who has vetted by (***R***) is rambling on nearly incoherently. Makes the space creepy.

Gregorydillon (talk) 14:39, 23 January 2014 (UTC) Made a pot of coffee. Opened some windows, place smells of a decaying mouse. It is quiet.

January 21, 2014 When I talk to people about this, Ive gotten links that it won't work

January 17, 2014 Actual Starbucks. The gate was locked, and keycode did not work.

January 16, 2014 Nice. Very nice. In by 6. am One very polite guy using multimeters and soldering. All the dishes have been done. No one is openly sleeping here. Very nice. I think the same coffee taste better than normal.

January 14, 2014 I was in the space before 6 am this morning. I made a smaller pot of coffee, and ended up drinking it myself. Today, I liked it the noisebridge space at the early hour. I put on some Mozart, softly. I worked on a course that I'm looking at with the beginning of a new semester at CCSF. - enuf on that for now.

Again the Kitchen is a mess, with the sink filled with plates, cutting boards with messes on them. General disorder.

January 13, 2014 Late for Coding Class Starbucks. Got here about 8:10 am. But the environment is not work friendly. The music is wrong, with wrong words, and it more feels like its driven by someone up all night, than music for people waking up. Also the Coffee maker area is a mess, and the kitchen is a mess. I made a pot of coffee and offered some. I didn't cleanup the other people's mess.

I'm studying by video watching CS50. the Harvard extension programming class. But. as is for I would not attach my name to hosting a morning study meetup at noisebridge, even that there are 15 people looking for a meetup space on meetup.com

January 11, 2014 I came in about 7:45 on Saturday with the plan to make a pot of coffee. But disappointed. Yesterday there were like +10 coffee filters left. Today there were zero. What happened? I like to start my morning with coffee.

January 10, 2014 I'm feeling the space would be better if there was more activity in the morning. I've been making a pot of coffee, well twice now. I was thinking about doing some morning cousera coding glorified coffee starbucks haha. What it would be is making a pot(s) of coffee between say 7:15 and 8:45, and putting coursera coding classes on a the collaborationstation in Turing, and a clean table between the kitchen and Turing. One room with a scheduled video coding classes, and an outside area for either small group, or just coding. What do you think? Would you go? Would you cooperate, and take the lead role on certain days? I'm just thinking, but not committed yet."

Sleeping at Noisebridge

Feb 17. There are a lot of people sleeping at noisebridge this morning. Very much of a crash pad feeling, except that its actually not so bad from the point of view that for the first minutes, they are asleep, and no one is in the space by the library.

Feb 16, one guy sleeping in the Church classroom. I don't know his name, first time I've see him sleeping here, although I've seen him at the space before.--Greg (talk) 14:44, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Feb 15, I spoke to No_Hat that I've been seeing him frequently asleep at Noisebridge and residence using of Noisebridge. The conversation became all unpleasant. I decided to leave because of that.. As I was leaving a women who I've seen twice working quietly at the table was also complaining about No_Hats behavior. About an hour later, some anon blanked this page, and changed it to something like, I sleep at noisebridge. So what. This bs just takes too much effort. Its not good for or sustainable for the people to residence sleep at noisebridge.

Feb 15. No_Hat was again sleeping at the front area common table area. This represents the fourth morning that I have seen him sleeping at Noisebridge in a small number of days. This seems to be a matter of residence sleeping.

Feb 14. Nick sleeping again on the common area table. No_Hat also was asleep at the front common area front table.

Feb 13. Didn't see anyone openly sleeping, but I'm not checking spaces like the server room and hidden corners. later both Kyle and Nick appeared with the looks o f people waking up. Then it looked like he sleeping at the common table. Monad talked to him, and it nearly got heated

@ 6:30 am on Feb 8. --Greg (talk) 14:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC) two people openly sleeping. One between the library and kitchen. The other at the back windows.

@ 6:30 am on Feb 6, --Greg (talk) 14:43, 6 February 2014 (UTC) Someone took the table with hardwired internet, and moving it to make a second sleep cave in J.C. Space. Not happy because its part of my coffee in the morning routine. I didn't wake the person up, but want to, and ask what's up with moving this to make a sleep space.

@ 8:30 am local time, when I left, there were two people openly sleeping in the space. Should I start to be putting names with the sleeping people? I know I feel different when it is "residency" sleeping from "catch some winks when working hard" or had a "extraordinary emergency" so.--Greg (talk) 16:59, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

6:30 am pacific time is --Greg (talk) 14:52, 5 February 2014 (UTC) One sleeping at the common hacatorium table. Someone who frequently slept here the last two weeks is awake and drawing. Hidden, idk

--Greg (talk) 16:05, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Here just before 8 am. Same two habitual sleepers. One wakes up from J.C's cave, the other is still sleeping on the floor by the soldering area. Better then when he was sleeping in the library.

--Greg (talk) 17:44, 2 February 2014 (UTC) second habitual sleeper comes out of J.C.'s den.

--Greg (talk) 17:05, 2 February 2014 (UTC) One guy openly sleeping by common table in Hackatorium. Raining out. Would feel sorry for him. I think its 4 times I've seen him sleeping here, and two other times in the early am. I think he has moved in. Don't know his name.

Did you ask his name? Or try talking to him about why people sleeping at Noisebridge makes it unpleasant for others? - anonymous
No neither - I'll probably ask around and get his name. --Greg (talk) 17:15, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Gregorydillon (talk) 17:36, 31 January 2014 (UTC) got in late this morning. Didn't see anyone asleep, but three people who regularly sleep at NB, here in the early.

Gregorydillon (talk) 14:39, 30 January 2014 (UTC) Got in about 6:15. Two people sleeping in the Library. Both are repeat sleepers. (One is same guy as yesterday "wake up with coffee, wears a beanie." and (?a??)

Gregorydillon (talk) 14:38, 29 January 2014 (UTC) Got in just about 6:15. One guy sleeping in the library where I like to drink my coffee. I offered him a cup of coffee. he declined, and after a few went to the restroom, and then I believe a different space to finish his sleep. All in all, rather chill.

Got in just just before six. The place looked great. The floor is clean, the kitchen is clean. The space was quiet.

There were at least two people sleeping. One in the DJ booth, and one in chairs in Church.Gregorydillon (talk) 14:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank You

Thank you Al,for putting my wiki users space on protected status. It had been changed a bunch of times today.

Thank you User:Watashidesuka , Monad is in the space early this morning cleaning up both the shop, and the overflow shelves of electrical components.

Thank you USER:OrganicGirl for cleaning the kitchen sink area.--Greg (talk) 14:20, 7 February 2014 (UTC) Thank you [404] for putting those flower in the vase in the library area.

Physical Space Hacks

Thinking about a physical hack on the location of the toters. There is no functional need for the large toter where it is, and visually, they are in an unappealing location. Not that I'm great at it, but the hacker crowd doesn't seem to be good at architecture for looking good. I'm going to ask some people's opinions before / if doing anything to actually move stuff.

My thought is to place two smaller toters on the kitchen area where people climb up to sleep, and leave the large toter by the elevator area.
