I like the McWire, as it is designed for both milling and printing, is cheap, has the smaller and simpler parts list (as compared to the Darwin machine), seems to be the easier / faster of the two, and uses 3/4" steel plumber's pipe as the primary structural component, which I have an aesthetic weakness for.
I don't have a particular preference based on which finished machine will be better or worse; if anybody has insight, I welcome it, otherwise I'm going to start going down the McWire BOM and obtaining parts.

- Link please! I'd like to see us document our process more voluminously than "start ordering parts from the BOM". Could you add a BOM to this page (or another page on our wiki) and start marking them off when acquired? At the very least I'd like some reasonable clarity about what we actually decide to build -- what print head, what chassis, et cetera. Please feel free to add links and thoughts to the page.
