This is the current DNS configuration, just in case you were wondering how to setup SRV records for xmpp:

; This needs to go into the noisebridge.net configuration, not xmpp.noisebridge.net  
; in order to get user@noisebridge.net addresses for the noisebridge xmpp serverupu
_xmpp-client._tcp in    srv     5 0 5222 scififaster.net.
_xmpp-server._tcp in    srv     5 0 5269 scififaster.net.
_jabber._tcp    in      srv     5 0 5269 scififaster.net.

I did this, although I still think pointing to xmpp.noisebridge.net. would have worked.
